The financial/mortgage/banking sector in Paris is not one which is currently hiring - not to my knowledge at any rate |
| Tigger replied on 05/11/2009 at 17:25 e-mail Tigger | | barrys is correct. In my opinion, his comments refer to all times, not just these times. The English market, in Paris, is highly unlikely to prove large enough to fulfil your financial requirements, even if your idea is to provide the mortgages from outside of French institutions. In a nutshell, French bureaucracy is a nightmare and you would need to be reasonably fluent in French and (possibly) hold some sort of qualification, recognised by France. You would need to check on this.
That said, all may not be doom and gloom. The British are huge investors in French property and some smart French agency may feel that you are just what they need to bring in the British customers. Who knows? Sorry, but my guess is that without fluent (ish) French, you may have a serious problem.
Whatever you choose to do, I do wish you the very best of luck.

I will also have to find out more about french financial regulation, one thing I do know, is that it less cumbersome than the UK. It has become more difficult to work in the UK, so we have decided to move to France. Paris is our first choice as we visit 3-4 times a year and we love living in a city. |
