Hi am wondering whether anyone has seen tajines in the supermarket. I lived in the SW and they used to sell them in Auchan for 20 euros or something silly like that. I should have bought one before I left but didn't

I am wanting to buy one but not for the ridiculous price they charge in home wares shops.

A tajine is the name of a pot used in Moroccan cuisine - a flat plate with a pointed conical lid, made of heavy pottery and sometimes beautifully glazed. I saw some in August, really affordable, nice selection (several sizes - beautiful indigo blue medium-sized one for 15 eurs) in a shop with north African food ingredients BUT I can't remember where, I was off my beaten track, it was somewhere up near the Cité des Sciences, in the 19th maybe? can't remember so that's absolutely no help to you !

Thanks attica, I see why I was confused, it is both a "stew" (Moroccan) and the name of the pottery dish in which it is cooked. Must be plenty available in the 10th and the 19th, will keep a look out for cj
