Completing first French tax return

Riablo writes in Financial & Legal

Just wondering if anyone can give any advice on completing my first French tax return.
I had thought that I would be sent information through the pos advising me that it needed to be completed, but I understand that I need to find the form myself online?
I've been working since last May in a part time role and I think it is very unlikely that I will need to pay any tax because I wasn't working very many hours to begin with, but I want to make sure that I get my paperwork in on time and correctly completed to avoid any problems and/or fines.
All of my pay has been recorded on the Pajemploi system so I'm assuming that the tax return will be fairly simple to complete, just worked for one emplyer the entire time. The one problem I do have is that I still don't have a social security number or Carte Vitale. I've tried to obtain it several times and having thought I had got everything sorted CPAM have now said that they need my birth certificate translating (they said it was fine previously!), so I am waiting on that at the moment. I'm not sure whether this will be a problem for completing the tax form?
Any advice much appreciated.

I am happy to be corrected but I am about to embark on my first tax return also, not as simple as yours, as I had 2 employers and 2 months sick pay. Anyway the online forms aren't available yet, they are available for the 26th I think and you have until the end of May to declare. Do you have your pay slips, 'bulletin de salaire'? If so you one for December will state how much you need to declare on you tax form. It will be the number for Cumul imposable; what you earn and what you are taxable on isn't the same. They is a calculater tool on the government website which will tell you how much you're expected, if any to pay.

I hope this helps.
