We (couple, early 50's) have just moved after a few years in Normandy and are looking to make friends in the area. We live just outside Rambouillet and have been told there are plenty of other English speaking people around. Would particularly like to make friends with other doggie people or anyone with an interest in crafts.

If you're interested, there's the Saint Mark's Anglican parish in Versailles and they also hold regular services at the church in Chevry (Gif-sur-Yvette) - have you had a look at the AVF (Accueil des Villes Françaises) website? - they have groups dotted around les Yvelines but not in Rambouillet unfortunately - but there is one in Gif.
