Bombay Rescue cats seeking new home

scribbler writes in Pets & Animals

It's been a very tough decision and one I wish we didn't have to take, but we need to re-home 2 of our 3 lovely cats. I'm so sad to have to do this but I want to find them a loving family who would welcome them rather than hand them over to a refuge to be put on a kill list. The reason we are having to re-home them is that they have been through a big move and all 3 are simply not getting along anymore and we have tried everything, also we no longer have the outdoor space that we used to have. They are all rescue cats, and we saved them when they were kittens, they are now all approximately 2 years old, but in many ways still kitten like. We used to live in Mumbai, India and found them all at death's door. The youngest called Pootle (mainly black with white paws and underbelly) was found in an open sewer, starving, dehydrated, sunburnt and with a damaged leg. The other, called Perkin, a stripy and spotty ginger and white cat we rescued from the streets, he was very ill and had to be fed with a syringe for a month. Both are now lively, well, all vaccinated with EU pet passports, microchipped (Perkin: 985170000535326, Pootle: 985170000531802) and neutered. They get along very well, they play fight but are often found curled up together, but they no longer get on with the eldest cat. When we left India we flew them over, they were in UK quarantine for 3 months then they came to Paris, but I think their time in quarantine and the big move changed them. We've spent a lot of money and love on our cats which is why I am sad to have to let them go, but they need more space to run around and I need to resolve the problem of how stressed they (and we) all are. We have a 16 month old daughter and they are very good with her and are used to children. So please if you or anyone you know would be willing to give a new home to our cats please get in contact, I can send pictures. Thanks.

I wish I could help but I am not a permanent resident - so it would be unfair the pet. May I suggest contacting consulates/embassies to see if they are willing to include this message in their newsletters. I am sure it will touch the heart of someone who is here for a few years. Best wished.

We recently adopted a dog from the S.P.A & i have to say the treatment of the cats & dogs there is brilliant. A healthy animal never gets puts down unless they are aggressive therefore a threat to others. The cats there were not in cages but out in a courtyard. I say this..just incase you have no luck, then take a look round an S.P.A & see. Wishing you the very best of luck.
