Denise Colomb produced two major reports in Martinique, Guadeloupe and Haiti, in 1948 and 1958 respectively. Following his work Décombres for bass clarinet and electronics, Raphaël Cendo is back at IRCAM with an ambitious creation based on the verses of the Apocalypse. Haunting the bass regions of the ensemble, of the baritone, and of the solo bass, Introduction aux ténèbres stretches its concert form in the spoken, the sung, the instrumental where the bass represents the "cursed part" of the voice. Devoted to photography from the non-Western world and created in 2007, Photoquai is a biennial event which takes place in Paris in odd-numbered years.
